I don't know about 5.2.4, but I can tell you that 5.5.5 works great in
10.4 Tiger, and I use it routinely there. I don't know how different
5.2.4's compatibility is compared to 5.5.5, but I suspect that that
they are very similar. I loved 5.2.x and 5.5.5 feels the same.
I recommend to go ahead and try it out on a Tiger partition. I can't
imagine that it will be too different. I will dig up my old 5.2.4 and
try it myself this weekend.
