Back in the "exciting" days of REALbasic, there was a great deal of
talk about the Swordfish project, a web application-building tool that
was announced 3-4 years ago. It sounded really cool, and was much of
the talk of the 2004 REALWorld conference.
Since REAL Software moved to their subscription model the following
year, a lot of the excitement of RB went away, and I kind of lost
track of it. Last I heard, REAL downgraded Swordfish from a new
product to a new project type. But I haven't heard if even that has
come to pass.
Since I am in the market now for a web application tool, I am reminded
of this vaporware. I was even able to find an old article on it to
remind me of the details:
http://www.macworld.com/news/2004/03/24/swordfish/
So I think I already know the answer to this, but I'd like it
confirmed by official channels: Is Swordfish dead? Or are there
still plans to (someday) revive the idea? Or perhaps some pieces of
ol' Swordfish have even made it to the latest version of REALbasic?
Thanks in advance.
