As someone who migrated to OS X and Linux, I miss using PB/CC, so I use
Parallels for some things. I'd rather have PB on my Mac/Linux boxes than
REALbasic, but that's life.
Zale and company are missing a great opportunity to compete with Real
Software, Revolution, and other tools. Geesh, I'd pay $300 in an instant
to have PB/CC on *nix systems, including OS X.
Now, give me a form designer for GUIs on more than Windows... I'm there.
As it stands, I still use PB 3.2 on Parallels and PB/CC 2.x when I have
some CSV files to crunch. Even with an emulator, nothing beats the speed
of PB.
So, for those complaining, I challenge you to compare PowerBASIC's
service to Real Software or Revolution. PB does an excellent job and
doesn't charge an annual "maintenance" fee.
RealBASIC has so much potential... *sigh* (So does FutureBASIC, but I
think it is stalled at the moment.)
