SADD(a$) gives the address of the string, "Test"

PEEK(SADD(a$)) gives the decimal value stored there
(the ASCII value of the letter T)

CHR$(PEEK(SADD(a$))) turns that ASCII value back 
into a character and so the letter T will print.
