In short, Yes. At the moment it is being developed mostly in a Cygwin
environment, which is under Windows (sometimes I debug under Linux for
those nastier bugs).
But there are plans to make a MinGW version available to run in native
windows environments. MinGW permits with the additon of 3(?) DLLs, a
POSIX application to run as a native windows application. I have in the
past, successfully run the Berkeley DB software in MinGW, using the
PDCurses library from another application I wrote last year.
But what is missing at the moment for BDB-Basic is the ./configure script
sup****t to allow that to build. There are also a few other Windows
specific issues, like file name seperators etc. Once the test suite is
more complete and the version 1.0 features are finalized, I'll be
addressing these.
