I've never used BeOS mysef, but it makes sense that they've ported and 
included ncurses.

Ya, PDCurses is really only considered when you either have an extremely 
broken implementation, or you have a platform that doesn't have curses at 
all. I suppose it can also be considered for UNIX if you want the support 
at the X Window level, but then you would just run the app in xterm or 
rxvt instead.
