It's not an availability issue, it's a money issue. Yes, my finances 
are really so tight that I can't afford $10 for dialup.

I *think* the modem I had in high school was 19k. (Whatever it was -- 
19.2?) Of course, back then, I wasn't on the internet exactly -- just 
local BBS's, *one* of which had internet email access. (Used them to 
write to a friend in the military, stationed in VA. Bang paths are 
fun.)

Yes, Linux. My attempts at *BSD usually turn into fiascos. (I once 
"accidentally" erased my entire hda because I didn't *quite* 
understand what the installer was asking me. Oops.) I do have a few 
different BSDs on CD at home, but I'm not going to install them any 
time soon. (OTOH, I *do* use both QNX and BeOS -- but those are 
entirely different.)
