I'm not sure who that comment was directed at. As Jon mentioned, 'BBC
BASIC for Windows' *does* include ACS, ASN, DEG and RAD as intrinsic
functions. The point I was making is not that they *shouldn't* be
included, but that I couldn't understand why the OP was insisting that
they *must* be included for the BASIC to be acceptable to him.
In fact it's apparent from his original message on alt.lang.basic (the
thread doesn't seem to be consistently cross-posted) that the OP
believes intrinsic ACS and ASN will be more accurate than calculating
them from ATN. As I point out there, that's not necessarily true. In
BBC BASIC for Windows, at least, the intrinsic ACS and ASC are
calculated from ATN in just the same way as you would in BASIC, and
are therefore no more accurate, just slightly faster and more
convenient.
