Then you thought wrong. Larry wanted to name the language Pearl, but since
there was already a language called PEARL, he just dropped one letter.

The latter originates in the fact that too many people think they can
program. They produce unreadable code no matter which language you let
them work in. A programming language can not fix incompetence.
