Well, I just looked at those old programs. QB.INI appears to have
places for about 25 colors, however, when changed by hand, QB.EXE
seems to overwrite most of them. It may be that for QB 4.5, editing
qb.exe may be the only way.
Usually, there are two tables, b&w and color. Sometimes, four.
Since I don't use QB 4.5 for much of anything. I never really
identified the locations for the color table(s) for the format for
QB.INI.
