They do have exact values. They just can't be written down in numerical 
form. But if I write "pi", it means the *exact* number pi. They also 
have exact relation****ps, such as e^(i*pi) = -1. (I think that's 
right.) Though e and pi are transcendental, i (sqr(-1)) is imaginary 
and -1 is negative, the relation****p is exact. If e and pi didn't have 
exact values, this couldn't be true.
