Judging by what I've seen in the last few days, it isn't the elite that 
are confused, but ordinary people who try to use a ridiculous system of 
weights and measures. 
  
Blaming the Brits is pointless. The U.S. has had more than 200 years to 
get rid of the old system. Practically all of the rest of the former 
British Empire, including Britain itself, has done so. Why can't the 
Yanks?
