This is another job that can be done either with sed or awk.

With awk:

awk 'NR!=5 && NR!=8 && NR!=10' file2

with sed:

sed '5d;8d;10d' file2

All the commands are tested with bash and GNU tools, so they may use
nonstandard features. I try to mention when something is nonstandard (if
