Instead of coding the "register EQUate statements" yourself, you can use
the 
YREGS macro.
YREGS resides in a SYS1.MACLIB member.
Since this macro definition is so straight-forward, it is not do***ented
in 
the z/OS MVS Programming Assembler books.
