Now I remember ... I worked on a "type ball" terminal using Time Sharing
from Elsevier Neth, the developers, or refiners of ADI*PLUS (Gijsbrandt,
Noordwijkerhout 1980?). Then we turned to VAX/VMS - good choice by the
way -  (on advice of some High&Mighty) and I had to translate from 
EBCDIC
to ASCII. I wrote an APL routine for that. Foggy foggy past ...
