BAA resolution to members

It has been decided today (12th May) that due to the member****p stance
the BCS (British Computer Society) has imposed upon all of its SIG's
and the associated restrictions this places upon the BAA commitee we
will be recommending to our member****p that the BAA de-affiliates from
the BCS and continues as an independant body.

Voting papers will be going out to all members in the comming days
with an EGM and AGM scheduled to be held on 19th June where a formal
announcement of the result will be made.

If the motion is carried we would aim to separate amicably from the
BCS and move forward with a new constitution shortly thereafter.
Production of Vector (our group puplication) will not be adversly
affected.

We are keen to continue promoting APL, producing Vector, funding
projects and sup****ting the community. Regardless of the outcome to
the vote we will continue to provide these services and I feel
confident that we will all benefit from a stronger and more pro-active
group going forward.
