Now that it's Friday, I can say more about data typing in APL,,,

Workstation APL2 Service Level 12's new associated processor 15 provides 
access to structured storage.  This means that it lets you declare and use

APL arrays as structures, like in C.  The processor performs automatic
type 
verification.  And, you can retrieve the address of an array and pass it
to 
programs written in languages other than APL2.  And finally, you can
access 
data which reside as structures in other programs as arrays in APL2.
