When I started using APL one of the things I liked best was escape
from FORTRAN's DEC statement!  A friend at Purdue had his debug search
on the blackboard over his desk:
       FUF
       FUD
       FUDEC
where the latter F was for FORMAT, D was for DIM and DEC was for
DEC.

On the other hand, when programs were written for my testers on a
production line I wanted as strongly typed variables as possible as
insurance against error.  Curtis
