I'll try and cut it short this time :

Evolutionary .. as in "small steps".
Just like nature .. which also takes very small steps and builds the
next level on top of that which has succeeded in reality ( in
practice ).

Here's just ONE example:
The Marketing and Finance Director of a big Chemical company came to
me and asked me if I could write a system for them. They were so
frustrated with their own IT dept. of 12 headcount and 2 years
development work.
The result of 2 years : nothing .. i.e. 288 man-months produced
nothing.

I had the (multiuser) system finished from SCRATCH to COMPLETED in 4
weeks  ( 1 man-month ) ... using APL.
The CEO wanted to buy my company, but I settled for a handsome reward!
Easiest fortune I've ever made in my life .. all thanks to APL !



PS:
divide 288 man-months by 1 man-month - 288:1
.... so my 20:1 APL factor was obviously too modest in this case !

Evolutionary ... the system evolved day-by-day, where the user could
and would make adjustments to his thought process , i.e. continually
fine-tuning the solution to their management problem until he was
completely satisfied .... 4 weeks later !
