Thank you for confirming that MOM objects are persistent & for the
Lescasse link giving an example of MON.
It is unlikely that APL2000 will deprecate MOM (it probably has got a
legacy by now that makes this impossible).
However, JSON is making rapid in roads in the maintream world,
particularly, AJAX. Although it is simpler XML (and not as powerful as
XML), JSON has a growing band of followers and the XML crowd are
conspicuously silent about the rapid acceptance of JSON. Even
Microsoft makes concessions to this in its .NET world.
The concept already exists in the .NET world, as Anonymous Types in C#
3.0. I expect this will be integrate seamlessly into an APL
environment such as Visual APL (the next version, for Visual Studio
2008).
Will you write up about MOM for Vector?
