If you settle for J read the excellent "Mastering J" by Donald B.
McIntyre, it 
will suit as a comprehensive first course in J. Or if you settle for APL
after 
having "read" the reference manuals, have a glance on the Finn-APL idiom
and 
after that, read Ray Polivka's excellent lectures on APL, and after that
look 
for the article series by Adrian Smith and Duncan Pearson in Vector on
their 
Causeway and analyze what they have done. It's fully explained in those 
articles. Or Adrian's HTML interface, also in Vector. There has been
distributed 
to everybody who was interested a complete graphical interface system at
APL96 
(Lancaster) - the diskettes were copied under your eyes. Help-files come
with 
it. Should I say more?
Through the years, any thinkable tool a professional developer will need
