You seem to have incurred a hell of an expense for just one
application each in Excel & Access.

Interesting that you use your calculator to audit the Excel/Access
calculations and not APL. I wonder why you do not perceive the need
to audit the Casio results.

Earlier you mentioned 01/03/1900. The default base date in Excel
(1900) failed to recognise 1900 as a leap year. However, you do have
the option of switching the base date to 1904. Is this really a much
bigger catastrophy that APL returning 1 as the answer for 0 divided by
zero?

APL is but one tool in the chest; in the right hands it is a
particularly good one thanks to the vendors empowering it to coexist
with other tools in its environment. I do not believe there is any
justification for staying within the bound of the comfort zone
provided by APL alone. Successsful languages are collaborative, as APL
is, wihout doubt: unfortunately, its practioners are not.
