APL is easy for some people and not for others.
I do believe this is related to some kind of mind set "characteristics" 
or what I may call "selective preferences" (nearly litteral translation  
from French)
from my personal experience, some people are good at many program 
languages including APL.
Some other excellent programmers do not "catch" APL.

It is worthwhile mentionning that some 25 tears ago, a colleague of mine 
gave a course of APL to a group of Russian engineers in Moscou. He told 
me at the time when back : "it triggered immense interest from the 
attendance and even some passion as potential use was gradually
discovered."

May be Gary Kasparov the World Chess Champion would be enthousiastic 
about APL.
