Agree , and as I originally stated, the small APL vendors have all
done an excellent job IMO !

BTW... Have you tryed the A+ GUI-solution under Unix ?
The ".s" context feels very natural .. like APL.
No fuss, no tens of parameters that need tweaking, mostly defaults
that get your data onto the screen in an efficient way. You can then
use "geometry" to then tweak it around if you want.

Also, didn't Soliton do something along the lines of a Java (GUI-
server) interface .
Has anyone here used it at all ?

Sure the current APL GUI interfacess are excellent, but basically
limiting one to using the STD Windows modules ...

Here's just a small ( some might say "unimportant" ) example.

Suppose you use the BCol property to set the background colour of a
SubForm to pastel green.
If you want to set a "Push" Button to for example a darker shade of
green , you simply can't , you are stuck with the standard Windows
color (e.g. grey ... or the underlying color-scheme set by the user)!
Same applies to Tab Controls and probably a few others.
