Possibly the smallest change on the customer's side would be to generate

  if ((e1 || e2 ||... e20) || (e21 || .... e40) || (e41 ...))

For that matter, if the compiler crash is in evaluating the expression
after it has been parsed, maybe when the parser encounters a huge
expression it could try to do such a transform itself.  But advise the
customer that he'll be locking himself to your compiler if he depends on
that, since others crash too.
