Is there another CodeWarrior Windows list somewhere?

Hi Stephen, I too am a CodeWarrior for Mac & Windows user, and I too
occasionally visit this group to see if anything interesting has been
posted.

CW for Windows is itself not dead, although rarely do people seem to
come to codewarrior.windows anymore to get their questions answered.
It seems that comp.sys.mac.programmer.codewarrior has become the
default newsgroup for all things CodeWarrior, regardless of platform.
You'll note that codewarrior.mac also tends not to have much business
(aside from cross-posts from comp.sys.mac.programmer.codewarrior).
Likewise, codewarrior.linux and codewarrior.java also seem to have
trailed off into irrelevance (although those products have been
discontinued).

I think this is primarily because the vast majority of CW/Win users
are also CW/Mac users as well, and their Windows issues often tend to
be cross-platform ones...so they show up on
comp.sys.mac.programmer.codewarrior. MWRon is pretty good at
responding to questions wherever he finds them, but I am pretty
confident he doesn't check here as often as he does
comp.sys.mac.programmer.codewarrior.

As a final note, you should be aware that Metrowerks is no longer
commiting to update CodeWarrior for Windows; they have promised a Pro
10 for the Mac next year, but nothing more. As Java died with Pro 8,
the Windows-hosted version may end with Pro 9, although they have not
officially announced its death, so there still may be some straws of
hope to cling to.

In my opinion, the ability to target and compile Windows on the Mac
version is far more important, as I tend to do my cross-platform
development on the Mac and test on Windows. If the Windows-hosted
version must die, I hope we can keep our x86 cross-compiler.

Regards,

Jonathan Hoyle
