added access path, then CW duplicated my files

I added an access path in a project, and then CW somehow re-im****ted
copies of all my source files. So now I have duplicates of all the
source files in the project, and many of them are older versions. WTH
is going on? Where is it getting these from?

I'm running CW 8.3.
