"Could not initialize Java VM"

Hey folks,
 
I recently started a Java project with CW 7, being primarily a CW C person

previously.  I downloaded
the newest JDK from java.sun.com.  CW is complaining:
 
  Link Error   : Could not initialize Java VM. Make sure the JDK is 
installed properly.
 
What and which critter do I tell about the other
and where does it live?  Is there an .ini or comparable
file in the JDK setup?  Is it on some CW panel?
