Link Error : Could not initialize Java VM. Make sure the JDK is installed properly

After installing Codewarrior for Java 6.0 on a machine with JDK 1.4, I get
this error when trying to compile any program.

Does this have something to do with the version of java? Do I need to
install the 1.3 JDK on the machine as well?
