Re: How Good is Processor Expert for DSP56800?

by "Oppie" <boppie@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 30, 2005 at 02:07 PM

We are starting a design with the DSP56F8357 and using the CW sup****t. From

what I understand, Metwowerks is a division of Freescale and was listed
under tools (not third party) for the processor.
An associate of mine is doing the programming and says that it has a nice
feel to it and is fairly easy to work with. On the downside. it's not
cheap
but does give fast results. I did have to really laugh when we ordered the

FlexCAN bean at nearly $3000, had to wait 2 weeks for it to be delivered
only to find that we received only a slip of paper with an authorization
code... Then it took almost another week to get the !@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 product
authorized
and working. So, both good and bad.
Don't even start me on why you can't change your password for sup****t
from
the totally cryptic (shades of the performer who used to be known as
Prince)
issued one to something that could actually be remembered.
    Oppie
