9th International Workshop on Software and Compilers for Embedded Systems

Call For Papers

     SCOPES 2005 is the ninth workshop in a series that initially was
     called "International Workshop on Code Generation for Embedded
     Processors". As SCOPES, the workshops' focus is best described as
     software for embedded systems with emphasis on code generation for
     embedded processors.

Topics of greatest interest include:
    * code generation for embedded processors
    * compilers for reconfigurable architectures
    * retargetable compilers for fast design space exploration
    * compilation for hardware/software co-design
    * application-specific programmable core/software development tools
      co-design
    * compilation and software design for heterogeneous single-chip
multi-core
      processors
    * profiling and analysis techniques for embedded software
    * optimizations for embedded Java
    * specification and validation techniques for embedded software
    * software synthesis
    * design of embedded software
    * memory hierarchy exploitation
    * run-time sup****t and real-time operating systems
    * optimization for low power architectures

     We plan to devote one workshop day to compilers for embedded systems,
one day for issues related to embedded software and embedded processor
architectures, and reserve one day for tutorials.

     A key goal of the workshop is to provide an interactive atmosphere.
Questions are encouraged during all presentations. In addition, the
workshop will include special discussion sessions. The workshop is open to
all interested participants active in embedded systems. By holding the
conference in Dallas, we expect to attract significant numbers of
attendees from the research and application communities of both industry
and academia. In addition to four research universities in the immediate
vicinity, Dallas is the home of a thriving embedded computing industry,
includ- ing companies such as Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, Via
Cyrix, as well as customers of embedded systems including
telecommunication companies such as Erikson, Nokia, NEC, Motorola and
WiQuest. This diversity, coupled with our strong emphasis on interaction
among participants, will facilitate sharing of expertise and interests
among industry and academic professionals.

Papers should present original, new research results not published or
submitted for publication in other forums. Papers should not exceed 20
double-spaced pages, 12-point type. Papers should be submitted using the
submission page that will be available on or before March 15, 2005. The
submission deadline is April 25, 2005.
