I recently upgraded from 8.1 to 8.1.3, in response to a notice
regarding 8.1.3. My bookmarks have been completely reorganized, and I
can't find several that I often use. - What did I do wrong, and is there
anything I can do about it? (I had thought that all my bookmarks and
preferences would remain the same.)
I'm also assuming this is only a browser, and I am using 7.2 for mail
and newsgroups. I hope that 7.2 is still working for mail and
newsgroups, although at one stage I got a message stating that "Netscape
is unable to locate the server (no name specified).
So far I don't like the new 8.1.3 version. So, I tried using "system
restore" to go back to the setup I had previously, thinking it would
convert Netscape to the version I used before. - System Restore went
through all the usual processes, and turned off the computer as usual,
but when I start it again it had a message that "it was unable to
restore to the date specified." No explanation is given as to why it
can't restore the system. (I tried two dates, both within the
highlighted period.) Can anyone explain why doesn't System Restore work
in this case? Or, is there another convenient way to go back to the
previous version of Nescape if I decide to do so?
What's the general opinion regarding 8.1.3 (which stated it was based on
Firefox), and what's the general view regarding Netscape 9?
Thanks for any advice or suggestions. Or, if I should post this message
on another ng, please let me know.
Jim
