FWIW, FYI, I have three (original) IBM boxes of OS/2, with the BonusPack
(TCP/IP, IBM Works, etc), all with original disks, do***entation,
manuals), AND six books on OS/2, including two that are actually worth
something. Yes, I have installed the OS on many computers. I think one
computer out of 20 would not boot up. Two computers had very long boot
times. The rest were all reasonable. You probably need an old computer
with an old hard drive and an old CDROM drive.
All three boxes have the TCP/IP stack that has ppp option.
All of the pile for free. All you have to do is pay ****pping. And, I paid
a lot more than free for the pile. Maybe 20 pounds.
I might even dig out my five page "glitches, gottchas, and landmines"
notes. OS/2 also puts extended attribute files on your hard drive (they
can be large and hard to remove and are all hidden). Maybe I can also find
the iOmega software and notes so you can run a 100 MB zip drive off the
parallel ****t (yes, it worked for me).
All good for nostalgia, curiosity, and FWIW.
Email to me if interested. Remember: free but you pay ****pping.
