CMOS on the mthbd with the fd jack says so, but there's a hole in the
bucket dear Liza...
The USB driver on the IDE didnt work, so maybe the the HP one you
suggested will....
I'd like to try OS/2 on that system and have it boot from drdos. Got a
WIP that says it does lfn and fat 32. but the OS/2 install dont boot
off the CD, and needs you to make a couple of fd .img boot disks...
which crashes, and reboots the system repeatedly. I've tried changing
FD and making new floppies. Thot maybe I could have it boot off the
USB FDD setting in the cmos.
I want a more facile ****ft from the dos prompt to the internet.
downloaded mozilla & tbird for os/2. I can only afford bleeding edge
hardware, and Linux is such a dog waiting for apps to load. The file
management is really clumsy as well, and I dont like having to
"login". There's only me here, nobody else messes with my *PERSONAL*
computer, and I dont need all the bugs that come with server
functionality in the GUI OSes.
I usta use Arachne, but now I'm on the satellite dish with Hughes.net,
and Arachne/ppp driver stuff wont logon, and even if it did, there's
lotsa pages now it cant render. Dunno if os/2 can handle recent real
player and Youtube, but I can read 5 times faster than anybody can
talk, and like the ability in ascii like this to scan back in an
argument to see if makes sense. Nobody ever challenges bullschitt from
the pulpit.
But trying to set this up is just one problem after another, in an
endless loop like the hole in a bit bucket.
