I'm not a batch programmer so I can't speak to that.  But I
do know for a fact that the utility I referenced, DIRDATE,
will not work under Win9x unless the drive is locked and
it won't work at all under Win2k/NTFS.  Since the original
poster was talking about BASIC, I assumed DOS where
the last modified and creation time/date are one in the
same.
