Do you really mean 'DOS' or do you mean 'console mode'?  There's a
huge difference - MS-DOS runs in 16-bit mode so all those fancy CPU
instructions you mention would either be impossible or fiddly (and
slow) to access anyway.  If you're really interested in pu****ng the
CPU to its limits, you definitely don't want to be running your
programs under DOS!  32-bit console mode is another matter entirely.
