BBC and DEFINT etc [Was: Using GOTO]

Ouch!  Why don't you use them, Richard?

All my old BASIC programs begin with DEFINT I-N

I'm from the old school of Maths A & B and I was taught that the 
indices I through N were used for *intergers*.  I always cringed when 
I saw the old BASIC demos that started a loop FOR X = 1 to [whatever]

In the old school, "X" was the unknown variable and was "real" by 
default because, obviously, if it's unknown you can't assume it's 
interger. :-)

As a result of that learned prejudice, *all* my loop variables are 
named I* through N* and DEFINT I-N is a great way to say this to the 
world.  (Or at least to that infinitesimal part of it that may need to 
read and/or modify the programs. :-)  I appreciate that your %, #, etc 
make things pretty explicit too -- but I *hate* unnecessary typing! :)
