You are aware, are you, that I make my living from developing and
selling BBC BASIC, a BASIC dialect over 25 years old?  Try telling my
customers that it's only "of historical interest"!

It is, I accept, pretty amazing that a 25-year-old BASIC dialect is
still relevant today (albeit having undergone a number of improvements
during that time, but still compatible with the original).  Indeed,
it's not only relevant but thriving, with the number of users
increasing every day and applications including commercial products
deployed in hundreds of locations:
