The FB compiler has a command-line switch that makes it follow QuickBasic
conventions.  The default behavior has evolved away from QB, and seems to
be in danger of galloping off to OOP-land and morphing into something that
doesn't look much like BASIC.  Still, one of the aims of the FreeBASIC
project is to compile old QB code, so that switch will probably always be
available.
