Character encoding failes.

by Wim Cossement <email@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 23, 2005 at 12:03 PM

Hi,

Don't know if this the right group, but here we go:

Since I have to use an inhouse template here, symbols are not rendered
anymore, just displayed inline, like &alpha; instead of the letter itself.
Sub and superscript is also not working anymore...

Could it have anything to do with this header, I mean like doctypes and
charsets?

I don't know too mucht about all that stuff, so maybe someone can help
me out.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

Thanks,

Wimmy
