I stopped being able to access the Internet with Firefox, and a check
showed this happened just after an automatic update had moved me from
2.0.0.13 to 2.0.0.14.
I can access the Internet via IE (sorry), and my wife, who still has
Firefox 2.0.0.13 is not having any problems.
It appears to be a firewall problem. If I turn off the firewall,
everything is fine and I can get to the Internet. I am using eTrust EZ
Firewall. I've had other updates to Firefox that have not caused any
problems, and have been completely transparent.
EZ Firewall still had permissions for Firefox. I uninstalled Firefox,
and removed it from the firewall listed programs. After Firefox was
reinstalled, I ran it and did not get the expected message from EZ
Firewall asking about access, nor was I able to manually add it to the
permission list.
I wonder if something get left out of the new version of Firefox that EZ
Firewall needs?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Clear skies, Alan
