As a fan of LifeHacker, I subscribe to their RSS feed. Here is a very
recent blog entry.
"the Firefox 3 beta is leaner, meaner, faster, and just plain better
than Firefox 2"
<http://tinyurl.com/6699x2>
It also says that FF3 Beta 5 is ready for prime time. I took their
advice for chickens, and have downloaded and installed the ****table
version, plus copied over my FF2 profile.
FAST! FAST! FAST! Sorry, but I had to shout, as I am so excited! Tabs
loaded from a Google search seem to load instantly. I think this has
something to do with "prefetching", a practice that some geeks
disapprove of. Any thoughts on this forum?
I have experienced some difficulty with some extensions, but I will be
using FF3 quite often to see if I can work around. Apparently, the
final version will be out in June, but LifeHacker says, and I think I
agree, "Don't wait until then!"
BTW, Harry McCracken's PCWorld blog says, " Firefox: On Its Way to Web
Domination?"
