[ANN] Power Manager 3.7 - reduce your carbon footprint

by Graham Miln <support@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 30, 2007 at 07:48 AM

DssW today announced the launch of Power Manager 3.7 for Mac OS X. Power
Manager 3.7 introduces support for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), a new wake
action, and time zone support.

Power Manager now supports a wake up action to complement the existing
'start up or wake' action. The new wake action improves Power Manager's
flexibility when used with a typical office schedule. If a colleague is
sick or away, their Mac can be shut down without needing to consider
Power Manager. Their Mac will remain off, saving energy until the next
scheduled start up event. This improvement helps Power Manager better
fit a busy office environment.

Power Manager 3.7 introduces time zone support. When a Mac's time zone
changes, Power Manager immediately updates the schedule to ensure
scheduled events occur as expected. Time zone support ensures Power
Manager is both a good travelling companion and suitable for global
deployments. This improvement particularly helps Power Manager users who
frequently travel with their laptops.

Power Manager 3.7 includes other improvements and bug fixes detailed in
the release notes, including improved documentation, status menu, and
Quick Schedule.

Power Manager helps schools and businesses save energy by automating Mac
computers. Users can schedule their Macs to start up or wake, shut down,
restart, log out, switch to the login window, wake, and sleep.

Power Manager scales from one Mac to ten thousand with ease and is
suitable for managed environments. Power Manager 3.7 includes an
administrator guide and bug fixes that ease network deployment.

Pricing and Availability

Power Manager is available today through the DssW web site
<http://www.dssw.co.uk/powermanager/>,
for EUR20 (US$29). Scaled
discounts for +100 Macs are available. System requirements are Mac OS X
10.3.9 or later.

Version 3.7 is free for users of Power Manager 3.
