NO - as stated by several responders.  RM does NOT sup****t free form
reference 
format.

To use the examples requiring that, "move" all source lines 8 columns to
the 
right (and make certain nothing goes over column 72.  Then the examples
should 
work.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean the examples don't use other features that
don't work 
with RM COBOL.

What about the RM-COBOL 85 . Does not sup****t that directive ?
